Day 43- (Wed 15th) After a lazy start we all checked out of the triple room and checked into the dorm room. Breakfast at 7/11 again (they do really cheap and tasty toasties and Ovaltine drink for under $2AUD combined). After some negotiations with the red trucks (the cheapest local transportation) we were spiraling the mountainside to the temple that sits atop, making dangerous turns veering onto the wrong side of the road. Once on solid ground again we wandered around the compound of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep and nearby markets for several hours before descending back into town for a late lunch. While chilling back at Kikies we were visited by an Ice cream lady with her little cart where for a mere 20B you could get a two scoop ice cream with all the toppings. Evie, Nick and I sat grinning as we devoured this delicious treat. Dinner was a fail at Bam Boo Cafe (where we had earlier had a good lunch), instead we had the slowest service and had to leave before getting served as we were attending a show that evening. The show was a Lady Boy Cabaret, its 200B entry however you get this back on a drink of your choice. The show proved to be very entertaining and eye opening. Several of the dancers were extremely talented and amazed us on stage with their moves. Others we were simply amazed by the fact that they were ever men. Chelsa and I were both convinced that at least 3 of them could have been born women. Tom was simply trying to avoid being prayed on which served him well until the show was done and we were leaving. They spotted his blue eyes from afar and descended like hawks groping him as he walked past. Chelsa and I couldnt stop laughing at his discomfort with the whole situation. We finished the night circled out front Kikies again chatting into the early hours.
