Day 5 Bagan (19 November 2014) posted 4 hours ago by Werner Paetzold The third full day of teaching was filled with purpose and again a school suffused with palpable excitement. It has been most encouraging to note that our year long preparations for this trip were bearing such good fruit. Naturally, we are as determined as ever to examine this trip to identify how we can make the experience more meaningful, more focused and more engaged. As has become the custom, we served the students their lunch, which was provided by our school, and prepared outdoors in the school yard. Thereafter, we were treated to a delicious thank you meal by the school. In a short time we have become accustomed to the deliciously spicy and varied food on offer in this beautiful country. Our final task for the day was to prepare for tomorrows mini Olympics event and to polish both our dance performance and our Tomorrow song from Annie as part of our farewell ceremony. The evening was spent relaxing in a new hotel (next door to the previous one) but enjoying much better internet access thanks to the remaining ASEAN VIP guests here. This short note belies the deep sense of satisfaction that we have derived from a full days interaction with extremely enthusiastic and energetic young students. We are already planning our next trip!
