Day 5 Of Our District 40 Days Fasting And Prayer! Topic: RUN TO WIN! Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. 1Cor. 9:24-27. 1. Father in the name of Jesus, we thank You for leading us into the fifth day in this forty days’ journey; we thank You in faith that Your grace will sustain us till end in the name of Jesus. 2. Father in the name of Jesus, we thank You, believing that in the course of this prayer exercise, our sad stories will change to sweet testimonies to the glory of Your name; our ridicule will change to miracles in Jesus’ name. 3. Thank You Lord, for counting me eligible for the kingdom race; thank You for You will help me to run to win and not to lose in the name of Jesus. 4. All our sins of omission or commission which may work against us; which may cause delay in receiving favourable answers from You, Lord, forgive us in the name of Jesus. 5. Lord, in this Kingdom race, keep me focused; keep all distractions away from me, by Your grace, I will not be entangled with the affairs of life so as not to lose in the race in the name of Jesus (2 Tim. 2:4). 6. Lord, I know the journey may be rough and tough, but I rely on You, make way for me, pave way for me, prevent me Lord, from stumbling and falling in the name of Jesus. 7. As a soldier for Christ, Lord, endow me with the virtues of endurance, perseverance and patience. Raise me above all issues of frustration and discouragement in this heavenly journey in Jesus’ name (2 Tim. 2:3). 8. Lord, I know it is a long journey and strength and vitality is needed. Lord Jesus, renew my strength; by Your power and grace. I will run without wearying or fainting in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 40:31). 9. Lord Jesus, in this kingdom race, help me to avoid perishable lustful things of the world that may cause me forfeit my lot in Your kingdom in the name of Jesus (1 John 2:15-17). 10. Father, endow me with the divine strategy to run without being disqualified. Lord, help me to run this race according to the rules in the name of Jesus (2 Tim. 2:5). 11. Father in the name of Jesus, help me to be able to discipline myself, to be able to put myself under control in this journey like Joseph and Daniel in the name of Jesus (Gen. 39:9; Daniel 1:8). 12. According to Your word in 1 Tim. 6:6, godliness with contentment is gainful. Lord, help me to do things moderately; and help me to drop any excess luggage which may weigh me down in this race in the name of Jesus. 13. In her flight to safety, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. Lord Jesus, I pray this will not be my portion; come what may, I will not look back in the mighty name of Jesus (Luke 9:62; Gen. 19:26). 14. Declare upon yourself thus: ‘In my race to the kingdom of God, I will run to win, I will run with understanding, I will lay my priorities right, I will be like the five wise virgins, I will be ever ready, I will receive the crown of glory at the end in the name of Jesus. 15. Bless the name of the Lord, appreciate Him for all the prayers we have prayed today. Thank Him, believing that as we have asked, He will grant us favourable answers to the glory of His name.
