Day 5 The Dump School. The history of this little school that has emerge literally from the rubbish is heart warming and a beautiful example of the hope and promise growing across Cambodia. In 2010 the father in law of a young man called Bophal Chuon offered his home as a school during the day to provide lessons to village children who otherwise would be working along side their parents scavenging for a living in the nearby dump. Bophal now has 2 teacher trainees who assist him in teaching English and computer skills, as well as traditional Khmer education. The children spoke and sung to us in English and proudly showed us their school and village. Our team felt privileged to spend a few hours with this community. The dance group performed a Khmer dance of happiness which I have shared courtesy of one of our team.
