Day 5 and the last in my selection of 5 songsn in 5 days: Sun Goin Down -THE TEA PARTY. The Tea Party are the biggest three piece band to come out of Canada, that arent called Rush! Huge in their native Canada and Australia, but seemingly unable to even get arrested anywhere else! They are one of rocks best kept secrets. Simply put, if you like Zeppelin and/or The Doors and youve never heard The Tea Party then, you NEED to hear this. And then you need to research their entire back catalogue. Led the humungously talented multi instrumentalist Jeff Martin, The Tea Party have taken the blueprint left by Led Zeppelin and taken it forward to the next level. This song is from their 1993 debut Splendor Solis and sees them in firm Zep/Doors territory. Jeff Martin voice is uncannily like Jim Morrisons. Youll find yourself believing the conspiracy theories that...maybe he didnt die in that Paris hotel room after all. Subsequent albums added morrocan percussion and even a Trent Reznor like electronic production and attention to detail in the sound. Later albums best listened to on head phones. For now tho, listen to the spirit of Jim Morrison from beyond the grave...
