Day 5: food for thought Ginger is amazing - not only does it add fabulous flavour to food but its been used medicinally for over 2000 years.... I love this herb: Its well known to combat nausea and a true necessity when you are pregnant with morning sickness or if you have motion sickness. Recently research has also shown us that ginger fights inflammation in the body, and has been found to help with the pain and swelling from arthritis and possibly also migraines. Plus the beta ionone (plus poss other properties) found in ginger is thought to have anti-cancer properties. The list goes on..... My 4 fav ways to have this wonderful food: grated raw into rice or quinoa salads, raw shavings with sushi, fresh ginger tea, and juiced with other raw veges/lemon. Nerd fact: In Germany ginger is a govt. approved treatment for motion sickness and heartburn.
