Day 5 of 5. Andy Langridge nominated me to post one of my favourite songs for 5 days and nominate someone else each day. Ive decided to choose songs that hark back to my younger days. Gosh, this is difficult. So many records, so little space. Oh well, here goes my final entry... After school, I had a misspent year or two in Manchester, failing spectacularly to get a degree in electronics at UMIST. Part of the problem was that my digs were only a five minute walk from FAC 51 The Hacienda nightclub. That venue and the students union probably accounted for a good 60% of my grant, if Im honest. Back in the early 80s, the scene was very gothic. To be brutal, many of the bands all blurred into one, but a couple did stand out from the crowd. One of my favourites were the Sisters of Mercy. Temple of Love was their first track I remember a housemate playing, but this track was the one that really jumped at me - Dominion My final nominee - I ask Julian Woodward to post his five favourite songs. Julian and I were at school together, and we recently met again (virtually) after many decades through the Enidi fan base. Hope to catch you face to face sometime soon, Julian!
