Day #5 of Gratefulness - Sorry, Amy Miller, I have been a little - TopicsExpress

Day #5 of Gratefulness - Sorry, Amy Miller, I have been a little busy at the lake - jet skiing and laying in the water. ;) Today, I will be a little bit more selfish and be grateful for three things that are not essential to our every day lives but have brought a tremendous amount of pleasure to me. 1. Cardinal Baseball - I was raised on the Cardinals. Listened to them with my Dad and Grandpa Hollander on Grandpas front porch. I would listen to Dad and Grandpa strategize plays and I learned to love the game. I dreamt of becoming their second baseman and would sneak a transistor radio into my room at night to listen to their games under the covers with my earphone in. I could have season tickets - easily - with a scorebook in my hand! 2. Blues Hockey - Have been a fan ever since they came to St. Louis in the mid 60s and would listen to Dan Kelley and Gus Kile on the radio. Love the Sport. Great game and a ton of fun to watch in person. Lots of years of frustration but tons of enjoyment. 3. Rams Football - I was a huge St. Louis Cardinal Football fan and they broke my heart when they left town. I was happy to see Bidwell leave but I loved to watch them play. I remember going to Busch Stadium in the FREEZING cold to watch games with my Dad. He would have me focus on ONE player for an entire series - a Defensive Back or a wide receiver to see how every player fit into every play. I learned a lot about how the game was played. I love sports and have enjoyed being a part of them - playing and spectating - all of my life. I am grateful for them....
