Day 5 of the Grateful challenge: 1. Coffee and chocolate. I dont think I need elaborate, that says it all. 2. I am grateful for smart phones. I resisted getting one for years and had an ancient flip phone held together with duct tape and bubble gum up to a year ago. But I finally took the plunge and got a Droid last year. Its amazing. I hate being available 24/7, but at the touch of a finger I can look up anything, connect with friends or find an app to make my life easier. I just cant get lost, because inevitably that is the only time I lose cell service and my GPS wont work. 3. And finally, I am grateful for the word f***. It is seriously the most versatile word in the English (or any other ) language. I may tend to over use it at times, but when it has so many appropriate applications, how cant you? Its a noun, a verb, an adjective and adverb. It can be used to demonstrate happiness or anger, sarcasm , disbelief or just about any emotion. And it even comes with its own hand signal for those times when shouting it out isnt possible or feasible. Yes, it is certainly the staple of American English.
