Day 5 of the Praise/Thankfulness Challenge: :) Random Praises: 1. I am thankful for Larry Ward taking my ridiculously long trip to Canada to pick up the 66 GP. It was 4,000 miles in 3 days and 23 hours ... across some small highways in Montana for a large portion of the trip trailering about 8500 lbs when the cars limit is 8000! lol Sue thought I was insane to go that far but it was an awesome roadtrip ... lots of laughs and great conversation. It was a blessing to have Larry for the ride! And his friendship has continued to be a blessing for me. 2. I am thankful for the elder board of our church. Since we went from 18 down to 6 lay elders it has nothing short of a blessing each and every month. Theyre wisdom and support has been invaluable to me and our church. I cant think of a better group of guys to serve with and have felt that way each year since 2007 or so when the board was restructured. We are a very fortunate and blessed by God Church to have these men in their roles. 3. I am thankful for Mike Gouin. He is the initial reason for me being here in Michigan and his friendship has meant the world to me. He is a man of encouragement and wisdom and when I first arrived here he was my source of continued sanity. He knows what Im referring to. I thank God that Mike took a chance on a nobody from nowhere ... a Tishbite from Tishbee ... a Pittstownite from Pittstown ... to pastor a church. Of course the entire elder board and congregation voted but it was Mikes initial push that started the ball rolling. For the sake of this church Mike suffered greatly ... emotionally and physically ... and Mike will be rewarded greatly by God for his faithfulness through it all. This 5 day challenge is now over ... and now Im free to be thankful EVERY DAY without a challenge. Thanks to Christopher Sanders for giving me this blessing ... a blessing that I didnt need to be challenged to enjoy but nevertheless ... being a human being who is sinful by his nature it took a challenge for me to enjoy what God has freely provided ... the opportunity to bring Him glory by giving Him praise and thankfulness for all of what He has provided for me. So this will be a daily blessing from now on and if you dont see my daily praise/thanks then please remind me! :)
