Day 5 of the Whole30 diet/challenge. Yesterday was awful- sugar shakes wouldnt go away until very late. The thing is is that you are intaking sugar, just in the natural forms of fruits- the one so many other diets restrict you from. Today is good, usually by day 5 the sugar and or caffeine withdrawal is over. I had already axed out caffeine so I had that one conquered, thank the good Lord! You can not weigh yourself on this diet- its not about that- its about relearning to eat healthy, BUT I can tell you that that I already fit back into a pair of shorts that I couldnt and my favorite skirt is slipping on my waist, so I figure I have lost at least a couple of lbs already:). So What Is Whole30? Its a diet full of all our foods, but nothing processed. It goes back to If our ancestors didnt eat, we shouldnt either. I get to eat pretty much anything, as long as its fresh- even bacon- lol. At first you think it will be difficult, but actually its just modifying a few recipes youd cook for dinner, make sure you dont order that chicken at restaurants with your salad cause its full of preservatives, etc... there are a few things I have decided wasnt worth the fuss- like the salad dressings. They all have sugar, so I just pick the one that is the lightest with an olive oil base. I will stick to this, even though I miss my yogurt and cheese (dairy is off limits).
