Day 51 The Power of randomness As we are are all creatures of habits we tend to act, behave and live under the same behavioral patterns we have adopted during the years, the oldest we get more habit we adopt and less creative we are in our thinking process in the choices we make and in the things we decide to do. Some time these habit are very suitable of our lifestyle keeping us in our comfort zone without having to deal with new situation, every day is more of the same as the day before and so the conflicts and dilemmas we have to deal with. And since we are already familiar with these dilemmas they are easy to manage and solve. But some time we are forced to move from our comfort zone and we can’t use anymore the thinking habit we use in the past, these changes may come because of external event like a change in our career status, separation from a partner in life, growing kids that leaving home, finishing university and many other situation that forced us into a deep change in our life habit. The other scenario is also possible, when people deliberately by themselves because of internal reasons want to change their life, maybe because they are not happy with their present situation in life or they just wish to improve it, or just have this habit of change from time to time, (this is also an habit), for example, people who likes to move often from one place to another. This change may frighten people who are not use for changes, after years of seating in their comfort zone something dramatic have been changed in their life and they don’t have any skills to deal with these changes. Either the need for change come for inside or outside reasons, the capability to change has to be there for you and has to be maintain in any tines, time of comfort and stability and in time of change. I found this capability so important that I think we should change and evolve all our life not only to have the skills ready for us when needed, but also because I think it’s a source for joy and better quality of life. So I would like to give you few small challenges, the are all based on Random situation so you will not fall back into your habit patterns, but don’t worry these are simple ones and really enjoyable. And please tell what you chose and how was it to deal with these challenges intellectually and emotionally. You may pick from the list below or create some challenges for your self. So these are your challenges option, you may pick one or all of them as you wish: Go to a bookstore and pick randomly a book in a topic you never read about, pick the book without reading the the description and then read it. Do the same about music, pick a music you never heard, something you even dislike and listen to it for few times. Same with food, eat something you have never tried, if you don’t like it, try again few time, don’t give up. Same thing with drinks, try a drink you really doesn’t like but try to drink it for few days again and again, check if you recognize a difference. Have a coffee with a person maybe a colleague at work that you never really spoke with. Open randomly you calendar rsrv a place in a restaurant you never been in different city of yours, have a lunch or a dinner over there just by yourself.
