Day #54 of 80 Day Prayer Chain Prayer Item We Pray today for the media in Zambia, that: 1. Truth in reporting and election coverage will become a high value. 2. Media bias will disappear. 3. Christianity will receive fair coverage in all reports. 4. Hope will become a part of the message of the media. Observation There has been an upsurge of online media whose general bias has been sensationalism and outright lies. This can have very serious repercussions in that it destroys lives and reputations based on false or exaggeration. Stakeholders and various factions all agree that media has been heavily biased without granting fair coverage for all the candidates and their parties. Lastly media thrives in sensationalism and bad news as journalists have a saying if it bleeds, it leads implying that bad news sells. I spite of the above let us continue to pray for the media and their chief editors that God may cause them to practive responsible reporting. May they realize that their reports have far reaching consequences and that they will one day stand accountable for what they do. May Gods power shine the light of truth in the hearts of His people as they ready themselves for their choice on the 20th January - election day - in Jesus name.
