Day 552 - Another picture from the archives. The every curious Leo checking out the entrance to the other building back then he had no idea what was behind that door, he just knew he hear more dogs in there. Now of course he has been in that building many times and has had baths and play dates with smaller dogs and hung out in the office with us on many occasion...back then though...he likely had many dreams of what may lay beyond those doors. Today was the typical chaotic Saturday with people in and out visiting the dogs up for adoption. We did send our little Susie Q to her new home today so today was a good day! We also welcomed Naomi into our program. Naomi is a roughly 7 month old Dutch Shepherd/Border Collie or Border Collie/greyhound mix? Hard to tell shes absolutely beautiful though with such gorgeous brindle coloring. Naomi and her brother were turned into a shelter in late August likely when the owners couldnt find homes for them. They stated personal problems as their reason for surrender (they were about 3 months old then). My best guess is that mom was an outside dog and that the owners didnt pay much attention to the pups as both dogs are very under socialized. Naomis brother is hanging out with Midwest Animal ResQ and we took in Naomi as it was decided they would progress quicker if split up so they could learn to stand on their own. Naomi was quite nervous coming into the facility but she has already made great progress. She is going to be just fine. Although today was crazy busy it was a great day with a new shy girl coming in and a sweet little girl going home.....cant get much better than that. More tomorrow!
