Day 564 Leonitis - Leo takes a bite out of Callie. It was - TopicsExpress

Day 564 Leonitis - Leo takes a bite out of Callie. It was another day filled with play as the weather blessed us with a beautiful day with highs near 50 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be close to 60...Ill be wearing my bathing suit into the facility tomorrow. Actually Im thrilled with the weather change and if we could just have a few days of this nice weather every week or two...I might even enjoy winter. The good news is...I have a computer again! So hopefully I wont be missing any more daily blogs. I thought Id tell you the wonderful adoption we just had with our sweet little Chihuahua mix girl Faith. Faith came into us just a week or so ago along with everyones favorite Butch the adorable Pomeranian everyone when crazy over. While everyone was oohing and awing over Butch and how adorable he was, I was madly in love with sweet, quiet, gentle little Faith. I fell in love with her instantly and knew she was special. Sometimes that happens, you just see a dog and instantly you feel a connection. You see into their soul and know exactly who they are. Faith was one of those dogs. I felt that way about Kami earlier this year as well and knew the minute I saw her that she and I had a destiny...it turned out to not be the destiny I envisioned but we were still supposed to be together and I was blessed to know her even if for just a short time. I felt this same connection with Faith. Faith was so sweet I decided to make her an office dog, which around here is an honor and the dogs know that..ha. I noticed right away that Faith seemed to have a bladder infection as I saw her doing little pees several times a day. I made an appointment the next day to get it checked out. I took her up to the Vets office and was going to drop her off for the day so they could get some urine from her and see what was going on. The office manager of our Vets office came up to see the cute new dog I was bringing in and took one look at her and burst into tears. She started crying which caused the other girls behind the desk to start crying, which caused me to start crying and I didnt even know why I was crying. Cindy the office manager had lost her little dog in October and had been having a really hard time getting over the loss. She has worked in the Vets office for years and of course has seen many broken hearts but just couldnt get over the loss of her own little dog. She took one look at Faith and she said it was like someone smacked her on the forehead and she saw what I saw when I met Faith for the first time she saw her soul. She knew that she and Faith were destined to be together and she said she literally felt her heart un-clench and open up again for the first time since she lost her baby. She was not even looking for another dog, she sees dogs every single day and had never felt like she was ready or wanting to get another dog...not yet.... but one look at Faith and she knew. How AMAZING is that!!!! She adopted Faith right then and there on the spot. I took her up the paperwork today to make it official and they are off to live happily ever after. These are the twists of fate that we see from time to time in rescue...the things that make the hairs stand up on our arms...the things that keep us going. Sometimes you just know. I knew Faith was special and she is.....I knew were were destined in some way and we were....if she hadnt come to me, she wouldnt have met the person she was destined to be with for the rest of her life. Ive never been more happy to have a dog with a bladder infection in my life......ha. Hooray for Faith and to my good friend Cindy....it was was destiny...love you two! More tomorrow!
