Day 6- Winnie There is something extra beautiful about a Pit Bulls strength and resilience. Today we met Winnie. This pretty girl has been used and neglected. Shes been bred and dumped. She is malnourished and completely uncared for. She has bacterial infections in her ears. Her skin is covered in secondary infection and sores. She has hair loss and her back end is all calloused. As terrible as she looks, she looks like a much older dog but believed to be under 2 years old. We can not fathom how someone could have this beautiful girl in their life and not care for her but they didnt. Our hearts break but we are happy to know tonight she is safe, comfortable and sleeping peacefully as she has a second chance. Many of you may have seen photos of this sweet county girl. One of our friends/supporters stepped up to save her and we offered to take care of her medical needs. While we couldnt take her in ourself, we were happy to to be able to help her on her journey to a better life and we will make sure she has everything she needs. We shared her photo tonight because though beautiful Winnie never knew love before, there is a huge group of people who now adore her. We cant wait to see this pretty girl give us one of those big bully smiles that we love so much. We will continue to update you all on her journey.
