Day 6: This song sums up the reason we as Christ followers have hope. Jesus is alive! It didnt all end when He died. He defeated death and the grave. We have hope that we will be with Him, meet Him face to face one day. We have hope in the midst of trials and suffering while here on earth, our temporary home in our temporary bodies. Hallelujah! This is another one of those Mary moments I have where I wonder what it was like to be her and experience what she did when Jesus spoke her name and she realized it was Him, our precious Lord alive. Can you imagine?! One of the lines in this song that I love is, All that Ive done before wont matter any more. Hope that all the bad/wrong choices I make have been forgiven and are wiped away from Gods memory. Hope that Jesus loves me just as I am, imperfect but being perfected, a sinner saved by grace being transformed into His righteousness, holy. This is a make me stand on my pew song. For me this is the best duet of all time, and I LOVE Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patty. Talk about some pipes! Man, nobody matches them....unless your name is Steven Barnett or Alana Rushing Weston. This is one of those songs that I wish I had the pipes for so I could have sung it with Steven, but, oh well, I cant have all the talent, right? ;) I mean, that just wouldnt be fair. So, I am thankful for the day, years ago, that I had the privilege of hearing Steven and Alana sing this song together. Amazing! And, dang it, Im getting me a rally towel like Vestal Goodman, and Im going to start using it to get our folks excited during our music worship time.
