Day 6 Thursday 27th November 2014 Debs arrived approximately 10.30am, and sue was out side. I got ready and put the harness on Unity. We left the house and off we went to the supermarket, Sue was watching from a distance again. The walk went really well to the supermarket and we had no major problems and this time when we went through the doors and went to go right to the counter Unity stopped, I said find the counter and Debs reminded me that she has stopped because of an obstacle in the way, she said there was a person near the entrance and Unity stopped because of this I gave the command find the counter and she went straight to it. I gave her loads of praise and a treat. Before we set of to go home Sue warned me that there was a guide dog puppy out side. We set off out of the shop and when we got on the foyer Unity started to look behind her and pulling I tried to get her to go forward but no luck. Debs showed me what to do to get Unity back on track, I had to drop the handle and hold the lead and get Unity to sit in the direction we would be going to go, and then pick up the handle and with a stern voice tell her to go forward and if she tried to look back again tell her to get on with it and tell her straight on. Once we got going and a few stern commands we where one our way home, the rest of the walk went well and when we got near my front door we did a left turn and she went to the door. Sue praised me again for working well with Unity and we all went in my house for a well deserved cuppa. Debs read some notes to me again and we had a chat, then Sue left and me and Debs took Unity for a free run( this is when you give the dog me time and let them have a good run about and let of steam) at Preston Park in Eaglescliffe. After the free run we returned home and Debs left.
