Day 6 since Yolanda...no substantial relief to those hardest hit, - TopicsExpress

Day 6 since Yolanda...no substantial relief to those hardest hit, where local government has been practically decimated. They say its difficult to reach these areas because the roads are littered with debris. They say that they have no people to coordinate with because the local government is not functioning. They say there is no means of communication. Alright given all these, whats wrong with just airdropping relief? Litter the whole area with relief goods until the area can be reached and relief is distributed the conventional way. Address hunger and shelter first, airdrop tarps so people can have some shelter from the elements. It doesnt matter if some of what would be airdropped would go to waste or would not have the best impact. So many people are donating relief goods. So OK some of them go to waste. But at least more people are given RELIEF from their suffering. Its frustrating and depressing to see so many people suffering and hearing things in the news like bottle necks, and obstacles why relief cant reach people.
