Day 7 Psalms and Proverbs Reading Psalms 31-35 and Proverbs 7 Psalms 31 (Ps 31:1 [AKJV]) In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness. (Ps 31:2 [AKJV]) Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defense to save me. (Ps 31:3 [AKJV]) For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your names sake lead me, and guide me. (Ps 31:4 [AKJV]) Pull me out of the net that they have laid privately for me: for you are my strength. (Ps 31:5 [AKJV]) Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. (Ps 31:6 [AKJV]) I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD. (Ps 31:7 [AKJV]) I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities; (Ps 31:8 [AKJV]) And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room. (Ps 31:9 [AKJV]) Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: my eye is consumed with grief, yes, my soul and my belly. (Ps 31:10 [AKJV]) For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed. (Ps 31:11 [AKJV]) I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. (Ps 31:12 [AKJV]) I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. (Ps 31:13 [AKJV]) For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life. (Ps 31:14 [AKJV]) But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God. (Ps 31:15 [AKJV]) My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me. (Ps 31:16 [AKJV]) Make your face to shine on your servant: save me for your mercies sake. (Ps 31:17 [AKJV]) Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called on you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. (Ps 31:18 [AKJV]) Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. (Ps 31:19 [AKJV]) Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have worked for them that trust in you before the sons of men! (Ps 31:20 [AKJV]) You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. (Ps 31:21 [AKJV]) Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city. (Ps 31:22 [AKJV]) For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to you. (Ps 31:23 [AKJV]) O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD preserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer. (Ps 31:24 [AKJV]) Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD. Psalms 32 (Ps 32:1 [AKJV]) Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. (Ps 32:2 [AKJV]) Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. (Ps 32:3 [AKJV]) When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. (Ps 32:4 [AKJV]) For day and night your hand was heavy on me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. (Ps 32:5 [AKJV]) I acknowledge my sin to you, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD; and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. (Ps 32:6 [AKJV]) For this shall every one that is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near to him. (Ps 32:7 [AKJV]) You are my hiding place; you shall preserve me from trouble; you shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Ps 32:8 [AKJV]) I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye. (Ps 32:9 [AKJV]) Be you not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to you. (Ps 32:10 [AKJV]) Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusts in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. (Ps 32:11 [AKJV]) Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, you righteous: and shout for joy, all you that are upright in heart. Psalms 33 (Ps 33:1 [AKJV]) Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. (Ps 33:2 [AKJV]) Praise the LORD with harp: sing to him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. (Ps 33:3 [AKJV]) Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. (Ps 33:4 [AKJV]) For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. (Ps 33:5 [AKJV]) He loves righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. (Ps 33:6 [AKJV]) By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (Ps 33:7 [AKJV]) He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses. (Ps 33:8 [AKJV]) Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. (Ps 33:9 [AKJV]) For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. (Ps 33:10 [AKJV]) The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing: he makes the devices of the people of none effect. (Ps 33:11 [AKJV]) The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. (Ps 33:12 [AKJV]) Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. (Ps 33:13 [AKJV]) The LORD looks from heaven; he beholds all the sons of men. (Ps 33:14 [AKJV]) From the place of his habitation he looks on all the inhabitants of the earth. (Ps 33:15 [AKJV]) He fashions their hearts alike; he considers all their works. (Ps 33:16 [AKJV]) There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. (Ps 33:17 [AKJV]) An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. (Ps 33:18 [AKJV]) Behold, the eye of the LORD is on them that fear him, on them that hope in his mercy; (Ps 33:19 [AKJV]) To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. (Ps 33:20 [AKJV]) Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. (Ps 33:21 [AKJV]) For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. (Ps 33:22 [AKJV]) Let your mercy, O LORD, be on us, according as we hope in you. Psalms 34 (Ps 34:1 [AKJV]) I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Ps 34:2 [AKJV]) My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. (Ps 34:3 [AKJV]) O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. (Ps 34:4 [AKJV]) I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Ps 34:5 [AKJV]) They looked to him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. (Ps 34:6 [AKJV]) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. (Ps 34:7 [AKJV]) The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them. (Ps 34:8 [AKJV]) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him. (Ps 34:9 [AKJV]) O fear the LORD, you his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. (Ps 34:10 [AKJV]) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. (Ps 34:11 [AKJV]) Come, you children, listen to me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (Ps 34:12 [AKJV]) What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? (Ps 34:13 [AKJV]) Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile. (Ps 34:14 [AKJV]) Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. (Ps 34:15 [AKJV]) The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. (Ps 34:16 [AKJV]) The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. (Ps 34:17 [AKJV]) The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. (Ps 34:18 [AKJV]) The LORD is near to them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit. (Ps 34:19 [AKJV]) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all. (Ps 34:20 [AKJV]) He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken. (Ps 34:21 [AKJV]) Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. (Ps 34:22 [AKJV]) The LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. Psalms 35 (Ps 35:1 [AKJV]) Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. (Ps 35:2 [AKJV]) Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. (Ps 35:3 [AKJV]) Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I am your salvation. (Ps 35:4 [AKJV]) Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. (Ps 35:5 [AKJV]) Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. (Ps 35:6 [AKJV]) Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. (Ps 35:7 [AKJV]) For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have dig for my soul. (Ps 35:8 [AKJV]) Let destruction come on him at unawares; and let his net that he has hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. (Ps 35:9 [AKJV]) And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. (Ps 35:10 [AKJV]) All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like to you, which deliver the poor from him that is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him that spoils him? (Ps 35:11 [AKJV]) False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. (Ps 35:12 [AKJV]) They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. (Ps 35:13 [AKJV]) But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom. (Ps 35:14 [AKJV]) I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother. (Ps 35:15 [AKJV]) But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yes, the attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: (Ps 35:16 [AKJV]) With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed on me with their teeth. (Ps 35:17 [AKJV]) Lord, how long will you look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. (Ps 35:18 [AKJV]) I will give you thanks in the great congregation: I will praise you among much people. (Ps 35:19 [AKJV]) Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. (Ps 35:20 [AKJV]) For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. (Ps 35:21 [AKJV]) Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it. (Ps 35:22 [AKJV]) This you have seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. (Ps 35:23 [AKJV]) Stir up yourself, and awake to my judgment, even to my cause, my God and my Lord. (Ps 35:24 [AKJV]) Judge me, O LORD my God, according to your righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. (Ps 35:25 [AKJV]) Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. (Ps 35:26 [AKJV]) Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me. (Ps 35:27 [AKJV]) Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yes, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. (Ps 35:28 [AKJV]) And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long. Proverbs 7 (Prov 7:1 [AKJV]) My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. (Prov 7:2 [AKJV]) Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. (Prov 7:3 [AKJV]) Bind them on your fingers, write them on the table of your heart. (Prov 7:4 [AKJV]) Say to wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman: (Prov 7:5 [AKJV]) That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words. (Prov 7:6 [AKJV]) For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, (Prov 7:7 [AKJV]) And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, (Prov 7:8 [AKJV]) Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, (Prov 7:9 [AKJV]) In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: (Prov 7:10 [AKJV]) And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart. (Prov 7:11 [AKJV]) (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: (Prov 7:12 [AKJV]) Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.) (Prov 7:21 [AKJV]) With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. (Prov 7:22 [AKJV]) He goes after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; (Prov 7:23 [AKJV]) Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life. (Prov 7:24 [AKJV]) Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. (Prov 7:25 [AKJV]) Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. (Prov 7:26 [AKJV]) For she has cast down many wounded: yes, many strong men have been slain by her. (Prov 7:27 [AKJV]) Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
