Day 7 Update - A day of rest....well almost Every time we start to take a breath and gain that feeling of stability, something else pops up. Friday morning it was the 4 irregular heartbeats (which happened again last night). Saturday it was the low blood pressure (as low as 80/39). And then today, they took him off the Milrinone (something ideal since it is only available by IV) and he didnt respond well. His oxygen efficiency in his blood (probably a better way to describe this) dropped, he threw up and so they put him back on the Milrinone within a few hours. Tomorrow weve got a new echocardiogram to see how his lungs are looking. Were also getting all the other kids in for echos and ekgs tomorrow just as a precaution. Hard to say how the next few days will unfold. Not sure if hell end up on the transplant list. We do feel pretty certain theyll install a ICD device to monitor his heart if he goes home. We have been told to expect to be here at least another week. We continue to be in good spirits. The kids have probably watched 4 movies with Jesse. Hes worked probably 4 sets of Legos that have been brought to him. And Jesse and I (Joshua) are tied at 2-2 in our Cribbage series. Weve been so well taken care of with food as we continue to receive food for lunch and dinner each day. Well just see what this week holds.
