Day 7 in Iceland We woke up and packed/cleaned our apartment, and hit the pool/spa/steambath first thing. Once we had enjoyed a last good soak and sweat and soak, we headed over to the Icelandic National Museum, which has a gorgeous collection. Afterwards, we took a scenic route to the airport (like the dark side of the moon, but with less people). Wind and waves and geothermal features and lava fields, and almost running out of gas and amazing scenery. Lunch in a tiny spot where people from the middle of nowhere go to get away from it all, before dropping off our rental car (no sir, we never went off paved roads, that would be foolish). Now were through security and duty/tax free, and waiting to board our plane home to the US, and eventually the Adirondacks. Its been a fantastic trip, far exceeding my expectations for scenic value, relaxation, fun, whale meat consumed, quality sister-time, and breaking with the ordinary.
