Day 72: I finished up my very last shift at the PD, and stayed - TopicsExpress

Day 72: I finished up my very last shift at the PD, and stayed strong until it was time to walk out of dispatch for the last time ever. I have made some amazing friends working for the city and my police department family has been my strength throughout the past 12 years. Those guys (and girls) have always been there for me and had my back through whatever struggle I faced in my life. They have played Dr. Phil, big brother, mechanic, taxi cab, father figure, protector, counselor, handy man, moving crew and everything in between. They have checked on me when I was having a bad day, visited me in the hospital and offered to show up at funerals when I have lost those close to me. They have bought my kids Christmas gifts when I couldnt afford it, patroled my house when I was scared and offered up the passenger seat of their patrol cars when I couldnt bring myself to go home to an empty house. All the cop bashing going on, on Facebook right now makes me ill. Those who do it, have no idea of the quality of man behind that badge and have no place on my friends list. I will miss every one of you like crazy. ......and PS...I still cant bring myself to open that going away card. Im not stocked up enough on tissues just yet. #100daysofhappy
