Day 8- I am thankful for Amy Elaine Magerkurth-Fisher and Emily Martin. Dr. Fisher and her staff have helped me tremendously over the last seven years. I remember entering her office for the first time as a scared, lost puppy dog; So confused and nervous of what a pregnancy would entail. The day I met her I felt as if I had met my second mother. I was so comfortable with her. She was real to me if that makes sense. I knew I wasnt just a dollar sign on her paycheck. She genuinely cared for me and my well being. I remember being in the exam room looking at tons of pictures of new mothers on her wall and thinking to myself, man she must know what she is doing. And it was like she knew what I was thinking and looked at me and said, thats a lot of babies isnt it? Ive been doing this for awhile. I promise Ill take good care of you. From that day forward I have trusted my whole life to her. She has held my hand through some of the scariest, trialling, and heart wrenching times in my life. Then again she has shared the most memorable, amazing, and incredible moments with me also. She helped me bring both of my children into this world and soon will accompany me with the third. While delivering Emma and Camron, along with Dr. Fisher, there was one nurse that made me feel so at ease. She was the most compassionate nurse I had ever encountered. I remember telling my husband, We have to get her name. I REALLY like her. There was just something about this nurse that made me feel so calm in the most nerve racking time in my life. Weird enough, she went back to school and is now a PA...for Dr Fisher! I had never been so happy to see another heart warming face in that office! Dr Fisher and Emily have seen me cry, laugh, and freak out. They have seen me at my highest of highs and lowest of lows. I would never be able to find two women this genuine in the medical field, and I will never try. Im with them for the long haul! I am so thankful for their personalities, smarts, and compassion not only in the medical field but in life. I also want to thank both of them for all they have done for me and my family. Without them, I dont know where our family would be. Thank you both!
