Day +8: Yesterday was quiet and uneventful. Brock ate some ravioli and beefaroni. Today has been much the same, except it was Velveeta shells and cheese instead of Chef Boyardee. Brocks dad and brother came for a visit today. He was happy to see them both. Dr. Haight is still super happy with Brocks status. Hes eating more than most kids at this stage, and he still has no mouth sores. In fact, they discontinued the IV nutrition last night, so hes getting everything through his NG tube, which is better for his liver, gut, everything. They are supplementing magnesium orally, and also putting a little extra, along with potassium, in his IV fluids. His blood pressure has been under the limit, so he hasnt needed anything for it since Thursday. Dr. Haight said she needed to go find some sick kids because Brock was medically boring. This is a time when boring is the best thing I could hear!
