Day 96: 11/9 #JuCan - #CobbFamCan loves Grand Junction, Colorado!!! Yesterday we were thrilled to be able to attend a fundraiser for Delaney Clements at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction! This spunky 12-year-old girl reminded me so much of Julia. Its hard to pinpoint what it is and you know you cant buy it in a bottle, but the closest I can come is charisma! Delaney was having a book signing party and she is the 5th child to receive a collaborative book in her honor by the Red Fred Project- author Dallas Graham. The extra treat was meeting the very first recipient in this project little Nathan from Utah who also gave us his book and personally signed it for us. Nathan is eight years old and has Brittle Bone Disease! What a treasure these books will be and a reminder that children with cancer are victors, not victims! I can honestly say the common thread woven between Ju, Delaney, Nathan and other children with life-threatening illnesses is that drive; that perseverance; that glow and spark they have in them!
