Day Fifty-Eight Update on Simon and Mochi. Yeah!!! Mochi is scheduled for discharge home tomorrow morning. I have our home all setup and ready for her with a nebulizer, suction machine, saline and Mucomyst nebulizer medications and trach care/suctioning supplies. Im sure that a nice warm bath will be in order once she is home to remove the hospital germs and to make Mochi feel better. I know that we humans always feel better after a bath and Im sure that dogs arent much different. Ill just have to take extra special care not to allow water or shampoo to enter her trach stoma. Mochi is still requiring quite a bit of suctioning per UW Madison Veterinary Hospital but aside from that, is doing well. She will require nebulizer treatments and suctioning around the clock (at least initially) so caring for Mochi will be a full-time job. Ill keep everyone posted about her progress via the daily updates. I should have the results of Baby Emilys biopsy tomorrow. Paws crossed that its benign. Mommy has a sore and swollen right hand and wrist tonight. Simon Chandler, and Joey decided to demonstrate their Alphaness last night. Emily was lying next to Mommy on the couch and Simon pushed her out of the way so he could lay there. Simon growled a little and within seconds Chandler and Joey were at the couch growling at Simon. Mommy tried to get a hold of Simons harness to pull him back and away and things continued to escalate. Daddy ran over to get Chandler and Joey away and before I know it Simon was trying to bite (not intentionally, he was just in a panic) and got Mommy good on the wrist, I didnt realize until a minute later that I had also hurt the area above my third and pinky finger in the process of pulling Simon away. I woke up today with it very red, painful and swollen. Its difficult to use my right hand so I guess Ill give it a few days to see if it goes away. Hopefully I just sprained the area. We scolded all three pups last night and told them that this behavior would no longer be tolerated. They were quiet the rest of the evening. I think Simon knew that he had done something really wrong as when we went to bed last night he went right to the co-sleeper and slept there. He did sneak back to our bed about 6AM this morning. What is it with males and their need to dominate? I edited this post as I realized I forgot to update you on the bedlamite across the street. He has been leaving his garage door open most of the night(never does this) as if he plans on doing something if my dogs should wander over there. That will never happen as they are always in my backyard with me or Michael but this is what we are dealing with. Our wonderful neighbor next door told Michael that she saw the wife and daughter outside just staring at our house this morning about 7:30AM. Michael told me that Sasquatch was outside chopping down a tree by the street with an ax this afternoon (finishing what he was doing yesterday before he received a visit from the police) and they made eye contact. No words were exchanged but this guy looks like a mountain man and thinks he can intimidate people. I believe that he is a big time chauvinist and that is why is never says anything to Michael. I found out that his sister is married to one of the local police officers so I think he thinks he can do anything he wants. He found out differently yesterday. Michael also told me that he saw him running around the neighborhood holding his canoe over his head (in the summer). It was as if he was trying to show everyone what a big, strong man he was. What a psycho. I hate to put any energy into pursuing this further but since this imbecile attacks without provocation, I may have to. Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this stressful time. I would appreciate your continued prayers as Mochi continues on the road to her recovery.
