Day Fifty-Five Update on Simon and Mochi. Amazing! $1044 donated through the Fuzzy, Mochi, Lucky, Jimmy, Phoebe and other JCCARE Chin Youcaring fundraiser in the past 24 hours. What an incredible group of people to give so selflessly. Thank you to Lisa Smith, Pugsleys Mom, Chon Wang and Duke and the other anonymous donors. We are at $3000 of a $5000 goal and hopefully we can keep the donations flowing. While we cant predict the future I think we all know that there will be other JCCARE Chin in need of medical care in 2015. I am trying to personally thank each and every one of you who donated and if I missed anyone, I apologize. Without you, Mochi and other JCCARE Chin might not have been able to receive the urgent medical care they needed. I received the most recent update on Mochi at 7AM this morning from Maria, the resident assigned to Mochis case. Mochi did develop a large blood clot in her stoma this morning at 5:30AM and luckily the staff was able to clear it with suction. Mochi remains mildly sedated to minimize her activity level which allows her to rest and begin the healing process. This is good news as Mochi was very inactive and moved very slowly preoperatively. I cant even imagine how much better she must feel being able to take a breath without struggling. Now she can use her energy for playing and keeping up with Simon, Chandler, Joey and Baby Emily. While I always keep my home very clean, I am in the process of rewashing all of the bedding, dog beds, dog toys and blankets to provide an as clean as possible environment for Mochi to return home to. It will be imperative to keep her stoma site clean as well as her surroundings. I dont have Mochis discharge date but I am thinking it will likely be Monday 1/19. I do think that she should be there over the weekend just to be safe. Dr. Hardie indicated a 5 day stay post-op and that would put us at Monday. I guess well take it a day at a time. Still no news on Emilys biopsy but that will likely be on Monday, too. Continued thoughts and prayers for my girls would be so appreciated.
