Day Five: 1. Im grateful for fruit (!). Sounds silly, but as one who normally has a sweet tooth, eating fresh fruit has really curbed that. It hits me every now and then, but since drinking more smoothies again, Im not nearly as bad. Thank God for his natural candy! 2. Im thankful for my home. I never intended to buy a house when I first moved to Columbia, but I was encouraged to think bigger and four years later Im still pleased. Lol, I would replace a few neighbors if I could (theres always that one house!), but when I look around and see a reflection of my style and likes, this was a choice and investment Im glad I made! Thanks Nancy Johnson for your assistance! 3. Im grateful for renewed health. A few years back I was really pushed to the limit- herniated disc, Achilles tendonitis, and compromised MCL in both knees (all I believe to be caused by overexercise and bad moves). But God! Im not totally 100% and I have aches and pains often, but when I do cross fit sessions like this morning (deadlifting 90 lbs, doing burpees, running 1200 m, and doing a one mile jog), I appreciate the use of my feet and legs and no longer having extreme lower back pain. You dont realize just how precious your temple is until its doors are shut for repair!
