Day One Recap: Made it through the morning of traveling without any hiccups!! (Thank you, Peg Hau and Rick for the torturously early morning ride!) While waiting in line at customs in Cabo, I discovered Donald Driver was in line in front of me and was on my plane. (Im 80% sure it was him... Or else the best doppleganger ever!) While waiting in the lobby to meet with the condo manager, I met a traveler named Chad who was also moving in. Chad is from Vancouver and has been traveling the Pacific Coast for the past 3 months. Hes decided to stay in Cabo for a while and has met some very cool people that hes going to introduce me to. I think hell be a nice neighbor to have. I then met Rafael, who is the security/bellman/front desk/maintenance man, etc., etc... Rafael is a very friendly guy and is dedicated to helping me with my Spanish. I think well get along swimmingly. (Im actually waving at him right now from my balcony as he talks to a friend on the street below.) As they were putting the final touches on my A/C (it was about 90 degrees in my condo), I decided to take myself out for lunch and had sushi on the marina. Mmmmm - fresh tuna!! Went back to my condo and unpacked, relaxed, and Skyped with Mom and Dad. Time for dinner so I went to Hooligans which is a fun little bar that I went to a couple of times in May when I was here. As I took my first few sips of my Corona, I enjoyed the sounds of Tom Pettys Running Down a Dream. I met a retired man from Sacramento who moved here 4 months ago, an employee at the bar from Arizona whos been here a year, a visiting couple from Seattle, and the bartender who is a Cabo local and also dedicated to helping me learn Spanish. I had two beers and joined the group for two shots of their home-made tequila which is amazingly delicious! As I did not want to be doing the Cabo Wabo on my way back to my condo, I crossed the street to El Pastor where I got three amazing tacos for $3 (one pork, one steak, one chorizo) which I took back to my room to devour. I then had the best nights sleep Ive had in days. As I write this on my balcony in the 80 degree heat and look at the amazing view beyond my laptop screen, I am so confident that I have made the right decision!
