Day Six: P- Predictive prophesies. The Bible is full of prophesies. From a conservative view there are at least 1,000 prophesies in the Old Testament and over 500 in the New Testament, taking into account that some are repetitive in nature, etc.. What this means is that for the Bible to have any validity at all, ALL these prophesies would have to be fulfilled as described (except of course those that deal with the future; that is our future). One flop, one error would negate the entire Bible as an authoritative text. Otherwise you would be left with nothing more than a faulty god (who would be no god at all then by default). So far, to use a baseball term, God is batting a thousand. Things foretold, have come to pass, and at a level of accuracy and detail that no other ancient work comes close to. The promises of God to Abraham, the judgment of the city-state of Tyre, the fall of Israel, Babylon, and of the Christ. What about those that related to the coming of Jesus? There were well over 700 scattered around the Old Testament that directly related to Jesus. So what are the odds that they came to pass as foretold? Check it out tomorrow.
