Day Ten: Songs of Peace Truth can be so profoundly received when it is heard in song. It is a feast of the senses if you like. We hear the music, speak the words, see the lyrics and others around us singing too, and in our spirits, bodies and souls we feel the effects of the noise we make and the truths we sing. And so we taste and see that God is good. So many old fashioned choruses that I sang 30 years ago still come back and remind me of the scripture that inspired them. (Although I wouldnt want to still be singing them now, Ill admit!). When my children were younger I would find God speaking to me through their annoyingly repetitive Christian music tapes. Songs can reduce us to tears, laughter and to our knees. I discovered this video yesterday - several friends recommended it on Facebook, and I havent been able to get the music out of my head. So since weve asked the question, Did Mary Know? a few times in this series of reflections, it seemed apt for today! May the God of All Peace bless you with Peace as you listen and feast on the visual and aural treat that it is, and remember - you, who believe, have been crucified with Him, you no longer live - HE NOW LIVES IN YOU and you carry him now.
