Day (This one) of Mono.. Totally worthless day. Head hurts. - TopicsExpress

Day (This one) of Mono.. Totally worthless day. Head hurts. Body is freezing. No energy. No motivation. Doing more then 20 minutes of brain use and Im a wreck of head physical pain. My lips tingle on fire. So to make the most use of my time, since Mission #1 is Get Well.. I mind as well stop farting around and do some MD work. I really hate being my own Doctor. I have no problems, and enjoy, helping others diagnose, figure out their ailments, or pass on the experience/knowledge/intel Ive picked up over the years. I am in no way an expert, nor do I tout myself as on. I just want to pass on what Ive learned to help others, or help them not fall down the same path of errors. I pay these folks tons of $$. I pay out of pocket for the luxury of going to some of the top docs. All I ask in return is some expert wisdom, review, cover my ass. However. When I am medically impacted. I need assistance. I might be a super smart person, sometimes, normally. But when Im sick. Im far from super smart. My base self protection instincts take over and thats all that keeps me upright. I do it all by the book. I dont self medicate. Even when 2 doctors summarize a certain medicine is a cause of a problem, or could be raised to help alleive a problem; I goto the prescribing doctor and/or also goto a specialist (Sometimes both to double down on getting the right answer, if they conflict, I repeat the round) to get a medically trained expert review of the suggestion. My Addisons steroid, for example, many docs say When your sick double it, etc etc but you dont mess around with this stuff. I want a clear regiment, cycle, timeline of how to raise it, and when to begin to lower it again. Or at least a up to you, within these acceptable guidelines. Thats all I ask for. So here I am. I know the plan of action on two medicines. Im ready to execute the next step on them. I just gotta wait till my next appt later this week. I could do it myself. I have the theories from the docs. I have the expected results and possible side effects / issues to look out for. But I will wait for their go / no-go launch order. So while I wait for that next step. I cover my ass a little. I was thinking back. In December I had mad Tacycardia when I ate. It totally wiped me out. It was theorized one medicine I take was too much, and causing (or exasperate) it. Later as the brunt of the mono infection went down, so did these side-car symptoms. Well Tacycardia is back these last few weeks. So is my gluten intolerance. So are a lovely mix of many of the earlier mono caused symptoms. So I think back. Tacycardia, heart aok, it must be medicine X We did lower medicine X at the end of Jan2014. I see my latest labs, which test the results of taking X. I see I am WAY under dosed now. I read 3 pages, from 3 sources, about the effects of Low-Normal-High ranges. And I see. Great. The results of not enough X, and having a high reading on your lab, you will experience (list of issues). Now Im not suggesting any of my current ailments are caused or increased with this particular medicine. But what I am annoyed at is whats the point of a freken lab when the results are ignored. Whats the point of followup labs when trending is totally ignored. So to wrap up this story. The two medical doctors who have jurisdiction over this particular reading / medicine. Dont ya think. When they read the lab dated 2014-02-18 they would jump at the rut roh? Dont you think, besides just suggesting we go back; at least schedule a regiment. Perform a lab 2 weeks later. Cross check and verify. If followup lab reports the same error condition. Go back to prior dose of medicine X. Repeat lab 2 weeks later. Cross check and verify. Just give me that bloody shiny blue pad that lets me write my own lab orders. I pay for the labs anyway, so why the hell not? Lols! Then I can come to you with 3 pages of handouts, spoon feed you, and perhaps make some progress. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day. Perhaps tomorrow Ill do what Ive wanted for a week. Thats to goto my buddies at the local FastER clinic and say Yo. Symptoms are x-y-z, here is what Ive been doing; do some labs for me? They would say yes. But why do I have to go off reservation to get progress/intel. Or do I just say F-It, and self raise my medicine X back to its past levels? Levels it was at for years. Im cold. I need another layer of shirts on. 3+jacket, in 72 deg house just doesnt cut it anymore.
