Day Twenty Two Praying for Your Siblings Most of us have a brother or a sister who grew up with us. If you are an only child, you may have a cousin or a close friend who you are close to. Have you ever stopped to consider the spiritual health of these individuals? Sometimes we can be caught up with lifes daily routines and forget that those around us need to know the love of Jesus Christ as much as any other lost soul. Life can become so busy that we find ourselves neglecting those who are closest to us. Take time right now to think about your sisters and brothers. Do they need revival in their hearts? Perhaps they dont have a relationship with Jesus Christ. You can stand in the gap and believe God for the salvation of your family -- like Pauls jailer did in Acts chapter 16. After an earthquake released Paul and Silas from prison, this man ran in and fell down trembling before them. Sirs, what must I do to be saved? he asked. And they replied, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. You can hold on to this promise for your family as well. As you pray for your brothers and sisters, ask the Lord to draw every one of them into a relationship with Him. As a Christian, you are also a part of a larger family -- the family of God. Jesus made the distinction between His earthly and spiritual families in the Gospel of Mark. Jesus mother and brothers arrived at the house where he was teaching. They stood outside and sent word for him to come out and talk with them. There was a crowd around Jesus, and someone said, Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you. Jesus replied, Who is my mother? Who are my brothers? Then he looked at those around him and said, These are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does Gods will is my brother and sister and mother (Mark 3:31-35 NLT). The Bible calls on us to show love to our Christian sisters and brothers, much like we would our earthy sisters and brothers. If we love our Christian brothers and sisters, it proves that we have passed from death to eternal life. But a person who has no love is still dead. We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters (1 John 3:14 & 16). Make it a point to take time today to pray for your siblings -- both natural and spiritual. Ask God to bless them and direct their steps. Pray that they would experience revival in their lives. Pray always and always give thanks 1Thess5:17,18 Your brother in CHRIST Moe.
