Day Two, Song two: Son of a Preacher Man... Dusty Springfield. This song with its smooth tune and great vocals always relaxes me and helps me to think back on people who have had such great impact on me (I suppose in particular women). It speaks to the unpredictability of attraction and how we just never really know who is going to be attractive to us. It is human nature to fall into attraction, but is there any rhyme or reason why and with who? There is also never any guarantee that the person who you like will love you back or feel the same attraction. In a world today that is busy and filled with so much superficial visual exposure, I think it is peaceful to remember those impactive feelings that come naturally to us and to remember fondly friends and family who are close, far away or those long gone.
