Day in day out I see people drop off from training. It is hard - TopicsExpress

Day in day out I see people drop off from training. It is hard keeping motivated especially when there is so much going on in your life. But the key difference between those that come in and train and those that dont is having the ability to push through those mental barriers. Things like timing your workouts. Look at your day and if you are not a morning person, then train straight after work. Or vice-versa, if you get home and take your shoes off and relax too much then you definitely wont make it in. Something as simple as knowing when you have free time. Most people know what the next day holds in store for them. So have in your mind when you have just 40 minutes and come in and work up a sweat. Learning to love it is the hardest thing. Its very hard to be passionate about losing weight and lifting heavy objects. The key here is your goals. Having big goals that you want to achieve over the long term, and small goals that make up the stepping stones to get there. Every time you reach a small goal reward yourself. Lost 1kg or put on 1kg of muscle, buy yourself new shoes or get a massage. Slowly step by step the little goals become fun to achieve because otherwise you wont get the reward. Knowing a little bit about your own psychology goes a long way in becoming the person you want to be. Trick yourself, be willing, be determined and the hardest part of all is not giving up.
