Day minus 8..... Yesterday Caden received the first day of five days of Fludarabine which is a more intense chemotherapy from the Campath he had last week. At the same time the doctors said that most kids do not have adverse reactions to this drug. So far Caden took it well...perhaps a little nauseous but after the Zofran he has been given for nausea and then we gave a little Benadryl to assist more with nausea he did real well. He slept for nearly 3 hours yesterday afternoon and he also slept almost through the whole night which was a great thing too. He played great yesterday and ate well too. So we are very grateful for that. We didnt take him in his wagon around the floor because he seemed happy playing in his play area. However we did confirm that everything was ok to do so if we wanted to with the new doctor on duty so our hall pass gets extended. Yeah! Lastly, I am blessed that as the Dad you are normally working and providing and usually that first year or so they are clinging to mom...well yesterday we had a friend over to help us while Christina stepped out so when he saw me he beamed from ear to ear and when I had to leave at any time he put up a fit that I was leaving. It was special that just perhaps he and I are bonding some more since I am seeing him a lot during the week than I normally would and he is identifying not only who his mom is but that he clearly knows his dad too. It certainly made me feel special rather than mom getting all the attention. Of course when mom did come I was still chopped liver but at least I am a close second. . Haha.. It was a good feeling.... Thank you for your prayers and I appreciate the visitors yesterday that came by. It was awesome to be prayed for personally and the overwhelming support of people that are helping is something I simply cant be thankful enough for. Some of our friends and helpers have expressed a real desire to be there because they want to spend time with Caden not that they are just there because they know it is the right thing to do. That means a lot to us to know just how much Caden means to not only us but to many others.
