Day of Nostalgia for me, memories of my family, when we were all young, fancy Easter outfits for church. Straw hats and white gloves, my brother in a new navy suit. Mother in something she made herself, all dramatic, with a bigger hat with trim to match her flowery dress, she smelled like heaven. After church to my grandmas house, where she just took rolls of coins and threw them throughout the house, wed be finding money for months after easter. She was older, it was easier, but she did make hand made candies he would cool on her back porch. We didnt have much of an easter egg hunt, we lived on farms most of my life and wasnt suitable for children just picking up things in the horse areas. LOL. But my mother would cook hard boiled eggs with beats and they came out the most beautiful color of purple. My dad always just looked so tall, and on Easter, he would be more casual, after he changed from church, and would stay outside with the kids for longer than usual. I can remember all the easter hats at church, the smell of incense at Mass, and my mother, making it all beautiful for us all. Huge ham or leg of lamb for dinner. Easter was a big deal. I miss them.
