Day one Margaret river...they promised us rain...the weather gods contradicting...just joking ha...thankyou gods...nice brekky...mooch around the lovely gardens of Basildene manor...in reception there is a photo of oak tree (when it was not much more than a twig) in front of original house...obviously got better with age... much more than 100 years on...still a pup compared to some oaks in England...then we waddled into town about 3 Ks which is a long way for out of condition old farts...taxied out to our favourite winery (pleased to see it is 2014 winery of the year)...a couple of bottles of beautiful buttery chardy to wash down a delish meal...cant pick an entrée?...have all of the above on a tasting plate...followed by barramundi...D the ever gent gave me his crispy skin...my favourite part...guess he must like me just a little bit!
