Day one if my 3 day gratitude challenge. I was nominated by my aunt Carmen Gonzalez 1- first and foremost I am grateful to have a god that has never given me more than I could chew. A god that has kept me in focus when I was lost and lost everything. Its funny when you lose everything that you have, its very easy to question whether there is a god and if so why are these things happening. I was in that position and then it hit me. You are breathing? That means that you can change your situation. Thank you god for never allowing me to steer too far from course and never allowing me to play the victim in order to muster up the strength to change my own life. 2- I am thankful for my health. I wake up every morning. Some days I am in pain others Im just fine. None the less I can walk, not that many people are fortunate to do that. My grandmother loved to walk and when that was taken away from her, she got one last chance to walk unassisted and the tears of happiness in her eyes oh man. I dont just walk, I dance which is something thst helps me stay healthy. Above all, I dont smoke, I keep my drinking to once in a blue and even tho I am over weight I am healthy enough to live a normal life. Thank you for giving me health. 3- lastly I am thankful to have a roof over my head. Some people take for granted the littlest things, shelter, bed, clothes and food. I was in a part of my life where I lost everything. I was unemployed, my father passed away, I lost our apartment, the day my father passed away I was robbed of all of the possessions that I had. I was practically homeless. My aunt, Carmen, took me in. Immediately I got a job and the rest is history. Many days we complain about the weather, however, the temperature will feel a whole lot different with no roof over your head. Be grateful. If you are young thank your parents for busting their ass to make sure u have the essentials, food, shelter, health, clothing, hygiene. Stop knocking then because they cannot get you over priced Jordans or lebrons. If you have your own place, thank yourself for having the ability to do this and embrace your blessings.
