Day one of the music challenge [a piece of music every day for 5 days and to nominate 3 friends each day] The ever enchanting Eleanor Davidson nominated me for this Re-entry with some music – our silent 5 day retreat ended well over a week ago – but i have been strangely reticent and resistant to re-engaging with Facebook again [ perhaps because we are used to virtually a whole month of silence or near silence for the month of November – or have been for the last three years when we were on silent retreat in South Africa for the month of November – though i suspect the re-entry is more than this – and is about re-engaging with political and social issues again and it has been very good and nourishing to chill out for over a couple of weeks from Facebook – but this seems like a good way to get back in the flow again So here / hear goes Day one The piece of music i have chosen is the concluding track on Leonard Cohen’s latest album ‘Popular Problems’ which for me is absolutely brilliant and up there with ‘Ten New Songs’ and ‘Old Ideas’ – the album is a grower and having started listening to it, i simply put it on repeat and played it again and again and again.
