Day three of the Provenance Research Training Program (PRTP) workshop in Rome, Italy. Entering the Italian phase. Two fascinating presentations: 1/ Plunder of Jewish property in Florence, 1943-1945, by Daria Brasca 2/ Discussion on the Gentili di Giuseppe restitution case examining the circumstances behind the restitution of a painting by Romanino. As expected, the reason why the painting was allowed to leave Italy for exhibit in Tallahassee, FL, was due to bureaucratic sloppiness on the Italian side. More to come….
