Day twenty-one COVENANT OF OBEDIENCE - EXOD. 19:5 The song goes, ‘trust and obey, there is no other way… “Obedience to God is something that God cherishes in all of his children. As a loving Father that knows what is good and what is bad, he wants us to trust Him in all things and obey anything He commands. Obedience to God entails sticking with His original plans and purpose for your life. We are not to deviate to the left or to the right - Deut. 28:14. Your focus must be solely on obeying whatever God has declared. Your success or failure depends on whether we are willing to obey God - Isai 1:19. The devil in his craftiness knows that the more you obey God the more successful you will become. He is always pulling and pushing people to disobey God to their detriment. The only thing God warned Adam against is a particular tree but it is to this tree that the devil led Eve - cf Gen 3. Immediately they disobeyed, they stopped eating the good of the land (Garden of Eden) and entered into a season of strive and labour. Disobedience to God is dangerous - Deut. 11:28; 28:15-68; Isai 30:21. The devil has a way of tricking people into thinking that it is not easy to obey God. Do not be deceived. God’s commandments are easy to obey because they are not hard - 1 Joh 5:3. God is kind, He will never make you do something you are not empowered to do - ICor. 10:13. Many people faithfully obeyed God and their success was recorded. Examples include Noah - Gen. 6:22, Abraham - Heb. 11:8, the Israelites - Exod. 12:28, Elijah - 1 Kings 17:5, Paul - Act. 26:19, the saints of Rome - Rom 16:19 etc. Be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Whatever He asks you to do please do it - Joh. 2:5b and watch Him prosper you. The Covenant of Obedience was instituted to bring divine blessings upon your life. Even Jesus obeyed - Heb. 5:8. Walk in obedience. confessions 1. My ears are open, I can hear what the spirit is saying. 2. The life of God is at work in me, I can be what God says I am. 3. The covenant of blessing works for me, the will of God is not difficult for me. 4. Obedience confirms me as a true child, I am not a disobedient child, I am not a rebel. 5. My spirit is imparted with grace, I am a new creature, I am chosen, and I am called. 6. Wherever I am led I will go, I will not go astray, I will not be misled. 7. I am a sheep in God’s vineyard, I shall not follow a stranger, and I shall not be missing. 8. All God’s enemies are my enemies, like Abraham I am counted righteous because when He called I followed. Prayer points 1. I thank You Lord for the grace to do Your will. 2. Oil of perfect obedience fall upon me in Jesus’ name. 3. You spirit of disobedience come out of my life by fire. 4. The great and effectual doors that disobedience has shut against me mercy open them for me. 5. The step that will connect me to my goodnews I receive the grace to take this step. 6. The covenant of disobedience in my foundation fire of God destroy it. 7. The faith to follow the voice of God I receive in Jesus’ name. 8. Rain of affliction over my life stop in Jesus’ name. 9. Spirit of graveyard over my life the fire of the Holy Spirit is against you be destroyed. 10. The foundation of disobedience that harbours battles in my life be destroyed in Jesus’ name. 11. Lord, give me the grace to obey in order for Your promises to be fulfill in my life. 12. The spirit of disobedience in my glorious child come out by fire. 13. All counsel of the evil to make me fall be destroyed in Jesus’ name.
