Day two of the Black & White Challenge. This portrait of war hero Gunnar Sønsteby was origianlly shot in digital/color but I saw this as a BW picture before pressing the button. Having photographed quite a few famous people I am perhaps somewhat blasé about celebrity. However, meeting a man that played such a vital part in our history was a real treat. Sønsteby was such a gentleman and keen to share his his knowledge from the war. He passed away a year after this picture was taken. The picture was taken by the Norweigan Resistance Museum, Akershus Fortress, in a gate under the building originally called “the Double Battery” (1691-92)
