Day1/5. I dont carve many wall mounted pieces, the object is to find a balance between 2D and 3D. It can be hard to achieve as you are taking away the multi view points of 3D and offering the one single view of 2D whilst still presenting 3D sculpture. I have spent some time growing and studying Bonsai which, in spite of being 3D, are, on the whole, presented with one viewing point. The trick, I have found, is to draw it from the start as only having one view point, as if you are going to do a painting of it. Thank you to Alison Ingram for nominating me.
