Day2 Part1 21/10/14 After being robbed by the shuttle service I opted to walked topickupthe very expensive 4 Wd. I thought we would be on the road with half of Oz to cover by 10.30 am It was stinking hot while Princess Buttercup got things together.By the time i got there i had a suntan and had seen half of Cairns. I had seriously underestimated the magnitude of what we were going to do. I get to the hire place and by the time all things have been taken care of ( including the extra 900 in insurance( great rort but one worth doing).If you didnt do it you had to give them 7500 in cash as a surity. Happy with the 900. Of we go for the 11 days shopping as there is nothing out there for 1200 ks. About 5 stops for fuel. Got the tucker 12.00 . We need drink . Wheres Dan Murphys , Other end of Cairns. We get lost and by the time we leave Cairns tensions are very hire. Finally on the road headedf north and there is another Dan Murpys and supermarket.Lost about 3 hrs. We have to cross the Daintree past Cape Tribulation over the infamous Bloomfield Track ( With a lot of trepidation )Past Cooktown to a camping Place on the other side of Cooktown. It aint gona happen. Last punt across Daintree 6.00. Get there just in the nick of.We scream thru the daintree dodging Cassowarys as we go.
