Dazzling Van Gogh inspired cycle path opens in Netherlands. Using swirling solar-powered LED lights alongside special glow-in-the-dark paint, Studio Roosegaarde has transformed the cycling path in the Dutch town of Nuenen into a twinkling commuter highway. The project is a part of Roosegaarde’s smart roads projects to create safer, more efficient roads. Inspired by the painting Starry Night by Van Gogh, Roosegarde studio have recreated the dazzling night-sky found within the painting upon the ground. The path is illuminated by LED lights powered by a solar array that charges during the day which, along with glow-in-the-dark paint, creates a beautiful night time display. I wanted to create a place that people will experience in a special way, the technical combined with experience, that’s what techno-poetry means to me”.
