De-mystifying Gods Plan For Your Life 8 Divine Design God’s design for you is mapped in such a way that if you stick to the narrow road that Jesus spoke of in the word of God you will at some point achieve your lifes assignment and fulfill your purpose. There is so much more potential to your life at this time and season. Look at the great examples of our biblical mentors. Psalm 105:16-19 reflects Gods plan for Josephs life before there was a great famine. He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that His word came: the word of the LORD tried Him. God will test you before He assigns you. God tests all His servants before He uses them in a mighty way, and that makes sense, of course, as the purpose He has for them will hugely impact others. Moses purpose was to deliver an entire nation out of bondage. Consider David, a shepherd boy who slew Goliath and in so doing, saved Israel from going into bondage to the Philistines. David later became father to Solomon, who was known as the wisest King that there ever was. Also, remember Samson, dedicated to the service of God from birth, given might strength for the sole purpose of delivering Israel from its aggressors. And now what about you? Our Heavenly Father knew you, even before you were born Psalm 139) and you have a purpose, too. Because of life’s issues, some people feel disadvantaged and unable to succeed in a way they might hope for. Some wish for different parents, or richer living surroundings. Many hope for better, upgraded circumstances in order to fulfil their dreams. What is most important in life, however, is growing with God, and developing an intimate relationship with Him. When we grow with God and understand His purpose from a young age, walking steadfastly toward it, then we will not be full of regrets about life as we will know that the ups and downs are worth it. As you grow in Christ developing your identity, it is important to learn to love, understand and accept yourself for who you are in Christ and what God created you to be. Most importantly, in everything, we are to give Him thanks (read 1 Thessalonians 5:18). Each person is created for His glory (Revelation 4:11). If you are still battling with unwanted circumstances or situations, it is important to first come to terms with where you are today, this hour, this minute. Then, submit to God and as the scripture says, ...resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Be careful not to blame the devil for every change of circumstance you encounter. Oftentimes it is God acting at those times and you need to pray and submit to His leading. In essence, dont try to bind God for what He is doing and become frustrated and resistant to what He is doing, mistaking His plan and assignment for you as being not of God. Knowing the end from the beginning is not your job, thats Gods. You need only to submit to His leading and not question His ways once you have prayed for guidance. Dying to oneself is important and helps one to focus and to submit to our Almighty God. Apostle Paul says in Philippians 1:20, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. During your purposeful walk with God, until your God-given assignment has been accomplished, it is so important to keep a short account with God, confessing your sins to God, so that the devil has nothing in you. The bible says in Psalm 91:1, He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Only when you have accomplished what God has set out for you to do in your purpose can you then say to our Father in heaven: amen (as Jesus said), it is finished. Apostle Paul talked about his ministry completion saying, ...But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God....I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus....Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain (Acts 20:24, Philippians 3:14, 1 Corinthians 9:24). Elijah and Enoch were also taken up into heaven in glory when they had completed their task here assigned by our Father in heaven. In John chapter 17, Jesus left no stones unturned and prayed for us in advance that we might not stray from our purpose, preparing the way for us to be received by Him. Part of Jesus prayer was:... 11 ...And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are...12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled...22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:...24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou loved me before the foundation of the world. Death loses its power over Gods people with purpose. Accomplishing purpose brings reward and glory. This is something to look forward to. God wants to take you from glory to glory.
