After a stellar 2013 season convinced the Redskins to re-sign Hall, the cornerback said his first order of business will be to recruit from a talented class of free agents. “Absolutely (I’ll be a recruiter). Absolutely,” Hall told Rick “Doc” Walker on ESPN 980. ”I’m already talking to Brian Orakpo, Brandon Meriweather. I’m trying to get as many guys around us as possible man to help us win. I’ll probably talk to Jay (Gruden) in the next couple of days when they get back from the Combine. Hey, what do we need on offense? Who do I need to call. Who do I need to reach out to? Heck, I’m a pretty good recruiter. You can ask coach (Frank) Beamer. When I committed to (Virginia) Tech as a junior, I was the first guy, but we went on to have the best recruiting class they’ve ever had, a top-10 recruiting class. I was definitely on the phone calling everybody I knew to get them to come to Tech, and that’s the same way I’m going to approach this Redskins team.” Hall said he always wanted to return to Washington, but took time to negotiate a deal that would give the team breathing room to acquire a number of players in free agency. “It was about trying to get Washington to a number that I felt comfortable with and they felt comfortable with, and that also gave us some room to go out and get some more talent, because players win games, not just one guy,” he said. When his radio hosts remarked on Hall’s recent back and forth with Robert Griffin III on Twitter, Hall said it was in his best interest to keep in touch with his quarterback on social media.
