Deadmau5 remix album lands high on Billboard chart Deadmau5 continues to remind us why he is one of the biggest names in electronic music. Toronto-based producer Deadmau5’s latest two-CD album 5 Years of mau5 climbed to number 2 last week on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Album chart, behind David Guetta’s Listen, since its release on Nov. 24 on his label mau5trap. Currently sitting at number 5 on the Billboard chart, the album is also ranked number 5 on iTunes’ top 100 Dance Albums. The first CD includes Deadmau5’s greatest hits dating back to his release of Random Album Title in 2008, including his hugely successful progressive-trance original mixes “Ghosts n’ Stuff,” “The Veldt,” and “Sofi Needs a Ladder”. In addition to the fan favourites, the second CD includes exclusive remixes from big name artists Eric Prydz, Madeon, and Nero. He also released a Spotify playlist in November with remixes not featured on the double album, including remixes from ’90s rock band Nine Inch Nails and James Holden. The electronic music community first got a taste of Deadmau5’s remix album back in August at the Mad Decent Block Party in Dallas, TX when he played an unfinished Dillon Francis remix of “Some Chords”. Deadmau5 is the most successful DJ in Canadian history and one of the most prominent DJs worldwide since the release of his debut album Get Scrapped in 2005.
